- The Tax Relief Coalition (TRC) The TRC is an organization of more than 1,000 trade associations, corporations and advocacy groups which was formed in 2001 to advocate for pro-growth tax policies.
National Association of Manufacturers WMMA® is an active member of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), and sits on the Board of the Council of Manufacturing Associations. Each WMMA® member is encouraged to join NAM, to gain access to literature and resources to help American manufacturing survive. NAM's website contains countless statements, reports, press releases and speeches given on U.S. manufacturing.
American National Standards Institute As the voice of the U.S. standards and conformity assessment system, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) empowers its members and constituents to strengthen the U.S. marketplace position in the global economy while helping to assure the safety and health of consumers and the protection of the environment.
WMMA is an ANSI member and the secretariat of the ANSI Accredited Standards Committee O1. Standards encompassing the Woodworking Machinery Safety Requirements are available on the ANSI eStandards Store.
American Tort Reform Association ATRA is dedicated to reform of the product liability laws at the state level. WMMA® is a dues-paying member.
The Product Liability Alliance TPLA is dedicated to the federal reform of product liability legislation. For an update on the product liability issue, please visit the Product Liability page on the NAW website. WMMA® is a dues-paying member.
Product Liability Prevention and Defense Group (PLP&D) PLP&D is a consortium of manufacturing associations which brings machinery manufacturers together to share ideas and experiences on how their companies prevent and defend against product liability suits. Resources include the PLP&D handbooks, legislative updates, expert witness/attorney reference materials, and semi-annual networking workshops which bring members together to address issues of concern for all manufacturers. WMMA® was a founding member but now offers promotional support.
Small Business Legislative Council (SBLC) The Small Business Legislative Council (SBLC) is an independent, permanent coalition of trade and professional associations who share a common concern for the future of small business. The purpose of SBLC is twofold: to consolidate the strength and maximize the influence of business on legislative and Federal policy issues of importance to the entire small business community; and secondly, to disseminate information on the impact of public policy on small business.
Since its creation in 1976, SBLC has grown dramatically to represent nearly every sector of our economy including manufacturing, retailing, distribution, professional and technical services, agriculture, transportation, tourism, and construction. SBLC has become a unified force that is respected throughout the government. The Council's views are sought and its opinions are valued by those in government who must decide how the laws of this nation are enacted and enforced.
Coalition for a Sound Dollar The Coalition for a Sound Dollar is a broad coalition of agriculture, manufacturing, and services organizations brought together to address the overvaluation of the dollar. Since 2001, the Coalition for a Sound Dollar has been working together to deliver a strong, unified message about the ongoing damage being done by an overvalued dollar.
Coalition for the Future of U.S. Manufacturing The Coalition for the Future of Manufacturing was dedicated to raising awareness of the critical importance of a strong manufacturing base to American prosperity and the challenges facing U.S. manufacturers today, and to seeking pro-growth public policy changes that will ensure a vibrant U.S. manufacturing base in the future. BIPAC (Business Industry Political Action Committee) now represents the interests of the Coalition, since its political strategy and tools help manufacturing businesses impact federal, state and local issues and elections.
